Forge Tower in Wharf's Entrance Complete

FORGE TOWER COMPLETES WHARF’S ENTRANCE’S FIRST CHAPTER

  • MIRVAC’S FORGE TOWER COMPLETES WHARF’S ENTRANCE’S FIRST CHAPTER

Mirvac’s $200 million Forge residential tower is now complete, welcoming residents into the first chapter of the Wharf’s Entrance precinct at Yarra’s Edge, which also includes stage one of the Wharfside Residences and Cargo Homes.

Located at the western end of the precinct, the 228 apartment tower boasts notable views of the city skyline, including the Yarra River and Port Phillip Bay.

Standing approximately 100 metres tall, Forge’s distinguishing sculptural façade is one of the first residential towers gracing the city skyline to greet commuters when entering Melbourne’s CBD from the Bolte Bridge.

Forge’s exterior is designed to bring a lightness to Yarra’s Edge through the use of silver glass and steel, with expressive architecture alluding to the movement of the surrounding Yarra River. Mirvac also commissioned internationally renowned environmental artist and sculptor Ned Kahn to create an urban art installation, ’Fluid Lines’, on the Lorimer Street and Regatta Way podium façade, an eye-catching masterpiece that creates movement on the building with a ripple-like affect that responds to the natural phenomena of wind.

Mirvac’s General Manager of Residential Victoria, Elysa Anderson, said the completion of Forge marked a significant milestone in the development of Wharf’s Entrance, which is the final precinct in the Yarra’s Edge community.

“As the first completed tower in Wharf’s Entrance, residents of Forge will benefit from a range of amenity including a private dining room and cinema room for entertaining, as well as the vibrant community that is already established at Yarra’s Edge,” Ms Anderson said.

“Wharf’s Entrance transforms what was once an old wharf, and follows the success of Yarra’s Edge to date in creating one of Melbourne’s most culturally vibrant and liveable communities with unparalleled waterfront access, a realisation of Mirvac’s purpose to reimagine urban life.”

In addition to the Forge residential tower, Wharf’s Entrance has recently welcomed new residents into the first stage of its luxury riverfront Wharfside Residences and flexible Cargo Homes. Voyager, the precinct’s tallest tower to date, is expected to commence construction soon.

“The completion of Forge is a momentous event for Yarra’s Edge, which is now home to a lively community of more than 3,000 people,” Ms Anderson said.

“We are proud to be one step closer to realising our vision for the precinct – which has been more than 17 years in the making - of a well-connected neighbourhood of diverse residents who enjoy an enviable waterfront lifestyle, while being just a stone’s throw away from the best of what Melbourne’s CBD has to offer.”

Forge’s location provides easy access to community amenity within walking distance, including a café, several restaurants and a supermarket.

The Wharf’s Entrance precinct is set to be further boosted in mid-2017 with the completion of Mirvac’s health and wellbeing facility, The Wharf Club, which will feature a pool, expansive fitness centre and café all housed under an inclined grass roof that sits adjacent to the  lush, riverfront green open space of Wharf’s Landing.

Residents will also benefit from being less than two kilometres from the Crown entertainment complex, 15 minutes’ walk to South Wharf and less than three kilometres to Southbank.

Upon coming home, residents will enter Forge’s lobby featuring an aquarium, fireplace, original wharf timbers and luxe copper highlights.

“Forge residents will join the already established thriving community at Yarra’s Edge that will continue to grow as we deliver additional cultural and wellness elements, such as The Wharf Club. Residents will be proud to call Yarra’s Edge home,” Ms Anderson said.

Forge offers flexible apartment options including one and two-bedroom artist studios, one-bedroom lofts and two-bedroom maisonettes, as well as three-bedroom homes ranging up to 151 square metres in size. At the time of completion, 75 per cent of apartments have already been sold.

Display apartments are now open for inspection at Forge. Visit a Mirvac sales consultant at South Wharf Drive (off Point Park Crescent), Docklands open 12:00pm-5:00pm daily.
